I've been thinking the same thing for about 10 years...

There's no point waiting - the perfect device is not just around the
corner.  Grab a bunch of what is available now, and be prepared to apply
a little xPL/xAP/etc glue to achieve your goals.

The day that the perfect HA controller arrives, is the day this group
will cease to exist!
