AIUI the whole point in air curtains (heating them isn't essential) is
to provide a barrier between the outside air and the air in the shop, so
that the shop's heated air doesn't simply convect away through an open
door (closing the door isn't much help if people are constantly coming
and going).  The losses from the air curtain are probably a fraction of
what would be needed to keep the shop heated without it.
