[OT]ish Uploading IP camera stills/video to website

Hi All,

I have a "little project" in the back of my mind at the moment
that will
require updating live(ish) images from 4 or 5 ip cameras to a web page,
probably via FTP, and have the page refresh the images automatically about
once every minute or so.

A possible enhancement on this would be to be the ablility to click on any
of these images and pick up a streamed video feed in a new popup window
(only one at a time!).

I'm quite happy playing with the web side of things, but I know absolutly
nothing about the mysteries of IP cameras and server software to get the
mechanics of the transfer working.

Is there a guru out there who can point me in the right general direction
for both reading matter and (hopefully) server software?

Any help/advice greatfully received!

TIA

Andy B.
