I expect your VPN client is using the remote router as default. There
should
be a setting in your client to use your local router/gateway. If its XP,
right click the VPN connection, properties, networking, tcpip, advanced,
make sure 'use default gateway on remote network' is unchecked. If its some
other VPN client, there should be a similar setting.
