Re: MoodLogic MP3 software

Hi John,

I used it for a bit as a trial much the same as you did. When I used it
they had a feature where you had to buy credits from their service to be
able to index your songs in your library - since I had a few thousand
songs, I couldn't quite get a good feel for the sort of results it came up
with without parting with more cash.

It did look very good though for a desktop alternative music player and the
hits it came back with were a pretty good match, for those that had been
indexed. My only problem with it was with the credit system of indexing
songs - looks like they were tied to a particular PC and not the song. An
interesting way of protecting their service, but added a lot more
complication, especially if you have your music on a separate server, since
each client PC looked like it needed to pay for the same song again to
allow it to be indexed on that PC.

Anyway, my review was superficial and possibly wrong in places, so feel
free to give the group a more detailed review.

Regards,
-Dan

Subject: [ukha_d] MoodLogic MP3 software

Does anyone use MoodLogic's MP3 mood mixing software
(http://www.moodlogic.com). I'm
just doing a trail at the moment but you
only get 5 days, so not sure how much good it will be. The software
compares
all of your MP3 and will create suggested play lists based on mood, which
could be Rock or songs similar to artist xyz or song abc. It looks pretty
good, but I expect that you would only get a real feeling by using for
sometime.

Some feed back would be usefully as I don't really want to spend more money
on software that looks good, but after a couple of weeks you find doesn't
quite do what is says on the package.
