Subject: RE: [ukha_d] AD10 failure due
to
low voltage
Glad
you got it sorted.
I
suspect that the chip got confused and permanently energised the relay, the
prolonged energisation leading to overheating and eventual total failure of
the coil.
Based on Mark's comments the other day, I suppose you had less than
a
snowball chance in hell of getting any compensation from Northern Ireland
Electricity :-(
Keith
Some you may recall I
posted a few weeks ago about how two of my
AD10s had given
up.
This was caused by a prolonged low-voltage mains supply
condition.
Investigation showed that the relays have burnt
out.
Well, I contacted Mike Huggins, of "Lets Automate", and
although
the
units were just out of warranty, Mike agreed that this was an odd
failure, and has promptly replaced the units under warranty.
An
example of how "customer service" should work.
Thanks
Mike.
Cheers
Derek
