xplrionet & artists.xml, playlists.xml not being generated

i'm starting to get xpl voice running & wanted to integrate the rio
stuff.  i've changed my xplrionet.xml file to add:
<voice artists="Y" albums="Y"
playlists="Y" />
restarted the service, purge & scanned the database but i only get an
albums.xml file.  artists.xml never gets generated & playlists.xml is
blank.
