RE: automating a remote control - relays?

Sorry to but in to the thread Paul.

I have some of these too and would be interested in including them in my
HV/C-Bus/Pronto Pro automation.

I'm someway behind the curve from you guys, where should I start on
Octocouplers, MFEB????

Sorry again Paul.

Regards

Gary

Yeah - you have the three button Velux remotes don't you - mine are the
Integra with 9 buttons - but very flexible and one remote controls all the
windows and blinds here. As I have 2 spare I thought it might be worth it
if
I can find enough outputs from HV!

BBSB takes 3 relays in sequence - I hold 2 closed, and pulse another for
half a second.

I also control Velux remote, but thats easier as it's one button for half a
second.

I guess there's a lot to test - how quickly you can press the buttons etc
- might sound like a machine gun every time!!!

I'm thinking of automating one of my Velux Integra remotes as this would
give a lot more control than the interface boxes I have - although a fair
bit slower on the button pressing maybe. If I did all the buttons, there
would be 9 relays needed though!

Paul.

I've done that with a BBSB remote, and it's proving to be tricky on the
programming side with Comfort - so not fully functional as I'd like as
yet.

[ukha_d] automating a remote control - relays?

Category:

I'm considering whether to automate a remote control - I can easily hack
it and bring out the button contacts to then link to a number of relays.

However, I was wondering if relays are the best option - they can be
pretty noisy, especially if the remote needs a key sequence.

If I'm controlling from HomeVision - are there any smarter solutions that
anyone can recommend?

Paul.
