RE: Re: OT: Golf website - dodgy ??

Scam for sure:

Their Whois information gives their technical contact number as:
1-716-557-5000

Google that number and you come up with a few forum discussions about..drum
roll .. scam golfclubs! Here is another website using that phone number -
they have a very special homepage which might give you some clues to their
integrity!: www. <http://www.golfwholesale18.com/>
golfwholesale18.com

If you google the uk number that one of the forums listed for that website
then you get this crowd: www.wholesalegolf118.com
<http://www.wholesalegolf118.com/>
 which seems to be exactly the same
website.

Time for the call to the credit card company.

This is very suspicious. The domain is only registered since late Nov yet
there are comments from as far back as May which would make this
impossible.

If this is a scam, then it is well put together. That's the trouble these
days, they are getting far more industrious about it.

Get your Dad to call his credit card company. At least he is protected by
using a credit card.

which hasn't been delivered. A quick look at the site raised my concerns -
no address, no phone number, no ownership details and a quick whois search
shows the registrant in Ohio, domain only registered in November and the
same registrant owns another 144 domains. Price for the putter was way
below
other online retailers.
