Thanks guys - hadn't thought of the temp sensor idea.

I already have some 1-wire sensors in other rooms, so I guess it would be
pretty easy to have one attached to the hot water feed to the shower.

It may take some time for the pipe to cool, but I guess playing with the
threshold values for on/off should achieve some reasonable results.

SOmething to try at the weekend!
