Thank you for your help people, Solved the problem with a new cable,
It
looks like the cable I had was a copy not a genuine nokia cable, new cable
worked first time. and I really like realterm.



I will post how my project evolves!

Thanks.. Interestingly this would not connect, it also insists on using a
modem driver rather than just a com port, it will however talk to my
Bluetooth phone via the Bluetooth modem..
