Re: Energy Saving Offer for Automated Home Readers

You've still got to turn your UPS off though as it will still draw
power to charge the batteries.
When the UPS is turned off on the front panel this cuts the power to
the output sockets anyway, so the intelliplug is redundant.
Then switch the UPS off at the mains. Though I guess the switch is
under your desk? ;-))

What you need is a UPS that turns itself off (on the front panel)
and off at the mains socket when you switch the PC off. Not seen
any of those! ;-)

I wouldn't think the is anything in the intelliplug that would
interfere with the UPS. I presume it is current sensing on the
master socket and uses relays to control the other sockets.

under the desk and I'd NEVER do this - far too much effort to mess
around under the desk every time I turned the PC off!!! ;) (you
should see the mess of cables under there!)

outputs of the UPS. Master socket connected to PC supply and the
other sockets supplying peripherals connected to the PC. May main
question was if there was likely to be anything in the intelliplug
that would interfere with the UPS operation, but I guess not as they
also offer a 13A socket to IEC plug adapter for use with UPS's :)
