Having looked at the product, I guess when the master device isn't
drawing current it switches off the other outputs.
But surely the intelliplug must draw a small amount of current
itself?    So not a total saving in power.

But couldn't you run everything off a 4 way extension lead with an
ON/OFF switch?

When a UPS is turned off at the front panel, this invariably only
turns off the output connectors to the load(s).   The UPS itself is
still drawing power from the mains and charging its batteries.
You've still got to turn off the UPS on the front panel whether you
use an intelliplug or not.
If the UPS is plugged in to the intelliplug master socket then will
need to be physically unplugged for the intelliplug to work.
If the UPS is plugged in to one of the intelliplug slave sockets
then what is plugged in to the master socket?
