[OT]ish Any ADSL MAx users on long-ish lines

HI, I had an ADSL outage for a week last month - as a result BT
downgraded my line to 512k (caused much shouting) and now refuse to connect
it back to 1 meg. I had a successful 1 meg service for the previous 18
months, so even though my line is borderline (60db attn and SNR of 10db) I
am reasonably sure my line can support 1Mg reliably. Would ADSL max help?
Is it possible for a user to re-try the line grading (even if it causes a
temp disruption to service)? Do I have anything to lose?

Anyone on the list using it with close to 60db line loss. Naturally I am
using the list-standard Vigor2600 as my router.

Frustrated Tim.
