RE: [OT] Wikipedia

Mediawiki, The actual software used for wikipedia. It is head and
shoulders
above the others, and it's easily skinnable to look nice (we use it on
www.xplproject.org.uk )

Not sure if it's MS capable, but it's worth installing a penguin box for
(or, if that's really not accaptable, run linux on a VM on one of your
servers).

The purely MS option is Sharepoint I guess, but that's really not in the
same ballpark.

Ian.

Subject: [ukha_d] [OT] Wikipedia

Hi All
=20
We want to set up a Wiki here at work. A google seems to bring up a myriad
of packages.
We're a bit tight in time so something quick to install and easy to use
would be good. Does anyone have any recommendations before we just 'stab'
i=
n
the dark at a package?
Its for internal use only so public access is not an issue but we do run
ou=
r
own web server so we might decide to make it available to field staff at
some point in the future.=20
Lastly e'thing is Microsoft in this building from web, app, sql, exchange
servers etc all the way down to desktops.
=20
Cheers in advance.

Rob
