[OT] GPRS

When away from home I've always connected my laptop to the internet via my
mobile using Bluetooth and a dial up number that my ISP provides. Whilst
slow this has always worked for me either on my laptop or my PDA.

When I got a replacement phone recently I couldn't get the dial up to stay
connected and the helpline at Orange suggested that I should be using GPRS
anyway and convinced me to switch over. It works but I'm not impressed
with
the speed. When I connect I get a message on my laptop that says
"connected
at 115.2kbps". Is that correct (I can't recall what the dial up said)?

I tried to upload a web page the other night via ftp - the web page was
sized at 108,528 bytes and after almost an hour it looked as though only
70,709 bytes had been sent so I gave up. Is something wrong?? Any
suggestions?

Malcolm
