What backend?
BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server) only manages a proper push if
combined with Exchange, Notes/Domino or Groupwise. (ie something that
has an RPC inteface). If you only have an IMAP-based mail server, then
you're dependant on polling intervals anyway, so push through from the
message store isn't a supportable option. (I suspect that there's some
free, trial, IMAP -> BB stuff that is better than, say, the Vodafone
gateway which I dislike intently.)
If you're able / willing to look at the entire messaging architecture,
and are looking for something with a thick client, web client, and push
BB solution, then there's a lot to be said for Oracle Collaboration
Suite (including the price, which is about half that of MS CALs.)
