RE: [OT] Warning - Lovefilm

My experience is far from unique, but I watch my films quicker than you,
and
would get 5 disks a week on a 3-disk at a time subscription (sending back
one disk per day to maximise the chance of getting the number 1 choice from
the list).

What they have started to do is "throttle" users who watch a lot
of disks,
even though they advertise an unlimited service. In my case, even though
I'm paying for four disks at once, they only send two - which is clearly
not
on. I now get less than half the number of disks I was receiving for the
first few months of the year. They have also started sending disks from
way
down the list - the one they sent today was in the mid-40s :-(

If they want to put a limit on the number of disks, fair enough, but they
should be more honest - like DVDs365.com who say you can have 3 at a time
but no more than 20 per month. If you reach the limit, they bring the next
billing cycle forward so you can still have more disks - it just costs
more.
That IMO is much fairer and honest than what Lovefilm are doing.

Mal

I've been bemused by these postings as my experience of Lovefilm since
January of this year has been the opposite! Most weeks our Saturday
viewing
has been posted off on the Monday and its replacement back in plenty of
time
for watching the following Saturday. Indeed our next DVD arrived in the
post this morning despite the bank holiday. Others at work who use the
service also report no problems. Maybe you and Mal have just been unlucky?
:-)

Just to add to this...

We got a letter from C.A.R.S. (the debt collection agency) on behalf of
Love
Film, with the usual "pay up or be dissembowelled" friendly
letter. Which
is
news to us, as Love Film are paid on the nose every month by Direct Debit.

In the past I've been very happy with Lovefilm's online DVD rental
service -
I've recommended it to people here and I've had their banners on my
website.
