OR depending on the type of WDU, the start capacitor may be knackered.or a
faulty centrifugal switch.
If its not that, then possibly the mechanical seal has gone, allowing water
into the motor unit, hence an earth leakage fault which trips the RCD

The RCD will be tripping, as there is a earth leakage fault.

Looks like you may need to get a new one, or have it tested.

Other option is if possible run it from a circuit that isn't RCD protected
