Maplin do a little set of active speakers (built in amp) that I
thought sounded pretty good, obviously not as good as a full
amp/speakers package but I would think more than good enough for a
kitchen setup.

I didn't get them because they only had the cherry colour at the time,
just noticed they come in beech as well...
