Re: Bluetooth adaptors

I got an MSI USB adaptor (has some stupid name like "BlueToes" or
some such)
for about 17 quid. Came with a big USB extension lead and a geek-chic strap
to hang it around your neck.

It's got a CSR radio in it, which means it comes with CSR's loathesomely
poor
bluetooth stack. But, YMMV. For example, it works a treat* on my win2k
laptop. However, installing it on my XP box at home caused it to have the
biggest fit of its life (bluescreening on boot). Took me the best part of a
day to get it back to a useable state. Presumably I could download a newer
version of the CSR stack, but it didn't seem worth the risk ;)

* By "works a treat" I mean, "causes no problems provided
you don't attempt to
use it". I find that actually using the BT stack gives you a window of
opportunity of about 10 minutes, before it brings your machine down in a
storm of svchost.exe errors.
