I agree it seems a bizarre limitation especially when their so
expensive.

Remind me tonight and I'll look at the cable. I'm sure it's just a RS232
to RJ45 lead. No visible sign of any electronics.

Many thanks

Hi Rob
OK, triggering a scene from a c-touch button which will send an IR
command from each channel will be no problem, provided off course the
IR
command you wish to send has been uploaded to the relevant side (This
is
done within the Circa IR software.)...

Yep no problem.....

Would need at least 200mSec or more.......

Ermm...no serial cable supplied...got the touchscreen in exchange for
labour....hopefully can make one up.......

What !!!........Must make some enquiries this doesnt sound right????

Thanks

Hi Frank

Hmmm.....

OK, triggering a scene from a c-touch button which will send an IR
command from each channel will be no problem, provided off course the
IR
command you wish to send has been uploaded to the relevant side (This
is
done within the Circa IR software.)...As for a delay then that one I'm
not so sure, I've not tried that. I'm am 'guessing' that it may be
possible by perhaps setting a scene that does something in between
each
IR send command, even if this is a 'duff' command. I guess it depends
on
the length of delay needed. Another untidy way of doing would be to
learn in a 'duff' IR code (Or use a code for a piece of kit you don't
have.) and then add that a number of times to your scene to create a
delay.
Something tells me there must be a more 'elegant' way of doing it but
I'm not sure.
The one definite way would be to use something outside of C-bus such
as
Comfort where you could set up timed responses no problem. Or Kevins
C-bus to xAP application.

As for the C-touch software as Dean said make sure your using the
latest
firmware. Also, where possible upload you config using the supplied
serial cable doing it over the C-bus network is VERY VERY slow (The
manual says 20 times slower but seems more like 50!).

One last thing that I still have been unable to gain any confirmation
on
and it seems an odd feature is that the C_touch manual makes reference
to the fact that the unit has a limited ability to be downloaded to.
Here iss the extract from the manual:
be possible."

"Note: - The 5000CTA units have a limit of 100 reprogramming cycles.
If
this limit is exceeded, re-programming may no longer
So A BIG TIP IS don't play with it too much!

HTH!

Many thanks
