As a side note... iTMS (iTunes Music Store) Europe is coming... Apple
have said so themselves, if anyone has seen the video here
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/qtv/musicevent03/
You will notice that Steve Jobs has set a target of 100million songs
bought through iTMS by the first anniversary of iTunes next year.

I reckon at that time (if not before...) he will introduce iTMS for
Europe and with it set another target, perhaps 500million?????

It'll go something along the lines of, "OK folks.. we said we'd do
it..
and we have... so lets raise the bar again.. this time we wanna sell 500
million songs, that's a tall order, so what are we gonna do to try and
get there... well, for a start, theres iTMS Europe..." (watch the
video
above to understand that sentence!)

In short.. iTMS Europe will happen... soonish, apple just have to sort
out the finer details! :-)

p.

p.s. for all you PC people who have downloaded iTunes over the
weekend... welcome :-) (I use both PC and Mac, and being able to
seamlessly share songs between the two is AWESOME :-))

I too downloaded and installed it after first reading a few warnings
in the Apple iPod eGroup. It worked fine... well... sort of.

I have a 3G iPod and I use ephPod to transfer files with it and am
quite happy. WARNING TO iPOD USERS: (as seen on the iPod eGroup)
if you are using MusicMatch JukeBox or XPlay to transfer files with
your iPod do not install iTunes for Windows if you want to still be
able to use MMJB or XPlay. They will no longer work afterwards.
Luckily for me ephPod works fine.

However the "real" reason I had downloaded iTunes was not to
manage
my computerised music, as I already use a combination of WMP9 and
MP3 collector for that, but rather to be able to use the iTunes
Music Store. I was seriously depressed to learn AFTER downloading,
installing, configuring and rebooting that the store is not
available to those of us outside of the U.S.A.

:-(

An interesting point for the group here is the music sharing
functionality which allows both PCs and Macs to share music across a
network thereby allowing the music collection to be stored on one
computer and accessed from anywhere (i.e. different room or rooms in
the house).
