How about a Virtual SCART cable?
meet the iSocket, developed by a scottish company :-)
You connect it to an ethernet network on one side, and plug in your scart
device on the other, and it streams the Composite video + stereo audio over
the IP network for you, with IR passback over the same Ip connection.
There's quite an extensive architecture planned, and they are pitching it
at
all the usual suspects, including HA. Details are in the two files uploaded
to the files area.
