Hi All,

Further to the temporary problems with RapidHoster, can someone please
explain the difference between HOSTS and LMHOSTS. Which file do we need to
alter to put our own entries in for accessing our domains until the DNS
changes take place?

I actually entered the info in both files.

I put in entries for diyha.co.uk and kat5.tv and by going to
http://diyha.co.uk I could get my site
but http://www.diyha.co.uk I couldnt
get anything.

Pinging "www.diyha.co.uk" or "mail.diyha.co.uk"
translated to the OLD DNS
entries whereas "diyha.co.uk" gave the correct new IP address.

I then added entries for www and mail for each domain and can now access
email and the web normally.

Do I have to put individual entries in for WWW, Mail, FTP etc or can I have
"*.diyha.co.uk" as an entry?

I can confirm that email is now starting to trickle back in but in a
slightly messed up order, however I can live with that :-)

Keith
