Have you checked for spyware, use adaware to check for any junk esp if you
have installed anything like Kazaa. How old is the disk? Is it Fujitsu?
I'd
get a backup of anything important just in case it is starting to gronk.

I have noticed an annoying noise coming from my HDD - Every 10 seconds
exactly it buzzes with an access for about 0.5 seconds. Once noticed it is
like the chinese water torture. I have tried stopping everything
non-essential and it still continues - It is unusually loud as well - I
can't usually hear disk accesses.
Has anyone got an idea of how I could detect the process responsible?
