I too try to do that, but in this instance wanted an all in one
so it would fit in my patch cabinet easily.
I've been asking for advice on adslguide.org.uk too, and it seems the
8100 modem is as good as any. The D-link is also a good one but can
be a bit tricky to configure.
As I say, this is all new to me so really just wanted to know I
wasn't buying a cr@p system (it seems some modems won't work with the
belkin kit - e.g. the X modem).
