Re: C-Bus and Wire-wound transformers - HELP

As a follow-up, for everyone's information, it seems that Clipsal do not
recommend transformers above 105VA for use with C-Bus dimmers. It looks
like I will have to rip out my hi-wire lighting and put in a 240V
system. Apparently there is a 240V hi-wire system just come to market,
although I am a bit suspicious about the H&S implications. May go for
240V track instead.

Just thought it's worth having this on record, for anyone else
considering C-Bus. The easiest advice would be to stick with 240V
lighting if you are using C-Bus, as I don't know whether even the
smaller transformers would make an unacceptable buzz on dim.

To be fair, the system's great for the HV halogens I've got in part of
the house. I think the same problem would occur for other systems such
as Lutron and Polaron. And Clipsal have been pretty helpful and open in
discussing the options. It's just a pity this advice wasn't passed on
when we put the system together.

Cheers,

Bruno
