Thanks Dan, but given my previous success with a soldering iron I was
hoping to be able to buy a commercial product from somewhere ;-)

Do you know of any? I've looked at some of the products on your web page
but can't seem to locate any of them in the UK...

Hi,

You can build uyour own interface in les than a half an hour.
It cost you less than 5EURO.
Use the schematic at:
http://www.laser.com/dante/irman/irremote.htm#Hardware

(only the part from the left of the connectors).

If you need further assistance, send me a mail.

P.S. That plugin cannot be used with an USB interface or an USB to
Serial
converter.
