Yes, you are quite correct there are always people who will pay any
price but, given that this is a special with the same power as many
laptops with the added touchscreen element I don't see it as being way
OTT. The problem is that all these devices seem too expensive in the HA
arena as one is not enough, several are almost always desired.

Also bear in mind that these are aimed, primarily, at the commercial
marketplace, not domestic users and therefore are priced accordingly to
take account of the higher usage etc. and, therefore, probably a higher
failure rate within warranty.

Regardless of how you slice it, these types of devices are almost always
priced at this level, only the odd bargain deviates and escapes like the
Fuji deal. So, in essence, if you don't like it there's not much you can
do about it and, whining about the pricing will not improve it as they
are all priced similarly.

Ask yourself, "do I need this device", if so, for what, then decide if
*to you* it is worth the cost. I'm sure you've done this yourself and
bought items that others have thought was either a waste of time or a
waste of money!
