But that's the same with any of the options, you need to learn the language it
uses. The amount of perl you need to know to use MrHouse is minimal, and as
Malcom already said he was a programmer ....

Again, you need to learn it's language to program it.

Don't get me wrong, I aint knocking Homevision (I want one!!! :-), I just
didn't want a newbie to get the impression MrHouse was too complex to use
because you had to learn perl. You don't, you need to learn a small
subsection of it that is ~= to the stuff you learn to program Homevision
(I've never used Homeseer, but it's a point & click affair isn't it? Or do
you need to script that too? If so, MrHouse is no more complex than that
either.)

I'd match my Linux+MrHouse+CM12U based system up against a Homevision anyday
in terms of reliability (if I hadn't stopped using it at the moment because
I'm preparing to move house.
