Thanks all.  I *think* we'll probably got for some of the switches at
http://www.sensor.co.uk/SS_module.htm, linked via the VIOM board at
http://www.phaedrusltd.co.uk/system/index.html, with events triggered by Girder
http://www.girder.nl/ .  I'll let you know if we need any consultancy!

Incidentally, the guys that make/sell it are very acommodating to the point
that they did a custom mod for me to make it a momentary rather than latched
operation relay, so I could use it in place of the momntary switch with an
LD11...
