The distance has less to do with the ability to run ADSL then the 
condition of the cable.

At work there are people less then 2km's from the exchanve, that dont 
even get 2Mbps, Im at 4.1km's and get about 3Mbps - Im actually furthur
then they should have installed it, but knowing people goes a long way
;)

Because of these sucess stories, telecom NZ have incresed the distance 
they will try to install it, to an optimistic 6 or 7 km's. Will be 
interesting to see how that goes.
