What should I do ?

Hello All,

It's been about 12 months since I last posted, mainly been too busy
building car, but have popped in to see what's going on now and
again.

Now i'm back on the trail to complete the house.
Over Xmas i'm wiring in one of the Home Network Sciences patch
cabinets that Phil H has been trying to get me for months and
months :)

Question I have though is.......

I have a Brand NEW (never been switched on) Cisco Catalyst 3548XL
switch.
It's 48ports plus 2 GBIC Fibre Ports.
It's really too big for my setup, and my last one went a bit doo-
lally, and I know nothing about Cisco gear, so they replaced my
switch, and it turned out the firmware needed flashing, lol

I was looking on ebay, and these things go for silly money, so I was
thinking should I sell it, and get a smaller 24port non-managed
switch, or should I keep it ?

Can't see that it is any quicker than any other switch, of course 48
live ports is nice, but is it worth keeping it just for that ?

I need to decide, as otherwise i'll build it into new racking i've
just put up ?

Anyway, happy xmas to all, nice to see some old faces still here :)

Regards
Geraint.
