OT Mums lights......

Sorry for this guys,

About a year ago my Mums house was flooded and all the downstairs has now
been sorted but my middle sister bought some of those 3 bulb light fittings
which keeps blowing the bulbs.

Is there a way of stopping that happening? I understand this is a common
issue with multi bulb affairs but I have one in my living room that has
been running for ages on 2 bulbs (should be 3)

What if I fitted her a dimmer, would this decrease the amps enough or am I
talking st%%?
