Granted, PHP has some advantages over ASP, but it's "of the same
generation"
as ASP if you know what I mean.

Also, as a *nix head, not knowing what a GUI is (you emacs lover you!),
you
won't appreciate this, but it was a real shocker moving from a nice
environment like VB6 to the rudimentary world of Interdev for Asp
development - took me back to my VB 3 days it did :-)
