Over here its allowable to sell services over 2.4MHz, and the spectrum
is a mess. You see the little mesh antennas on top of all sorts of
places like KFC and small businesses aimed at a nearby tall building.
Problem is, there are several providers of it, and they dont have to
coordinate anything, so people find that it flakes out one day. I know
someone that was unable to get 802.11 to operate across there office of
about 20 metres.

Some of the providers are actually using 802.11b. You can see there
networks, one of them for a long time wasnt even using WEP. Thruput is
horrificly low (2-3MB/s total for the site, because of the high number
of collisions.

Dont waste your time buying a service like this.
