assumed it must be there somewhere but this damn OS has become so big that
finding this stuff is almost impossible nowadays!

Right click my computer, properties, hardware, device manager, and
select the IDE interface.
The
advanced options and you should select 'DMA if
available'

tell me how to enable DMA on my DVD ROM drive under Win2k /
Win2k
Server?
I can't for the hell of me remember where to find
the checkbox.
