Hi Tim,

I know the Com Ports are OK because the project I am working on uses a device that attaches to a serial port. It works on both Com1 or Com2

If you are refering to Connection Settings in the Active Sync software this isnt visible until AFTER an iPaq has been partnered.

I hope to borrow a USB cable and try that, then I might be able to see the box to enable the Com ports.

I know that this is really obvious Keith, but you have made sure that in connection settings you've enabled the serial port. I had dreadful problems with Win2k and serial ports, where they would show up in the device manager, but wouldn't talk to anything though. Seems to be OK now.

USB is reasonable now, but it still doesn't like to be connected via a hub.
