RE: Library Software
Stuart,
It's not what you want to hear, but I used Excel for my fiction library
(about 2000 books.)
My logic was that
- the data is fundamentally a single table so there wasn't particularly any
mileage to gain out of normalising the data into anything relational.
- where I've got repetitive data (like Author name) Excel does the
"copy
down" or autofill nicely
- I figured up front that I'd want to muck around with the fields. I
subsequently added stuff like "series name" and "series
number" to the
original
On the CDs, I think the same applies. I've had trouble with CDDB on
compilation CDs, where the "performer/artist" field _isn't_ at
the CD level
but the track level...

Does anyone know of any software that will let me catalogue my
CD/DVD/Video/MP3/Book collection?
I had a cuecat shipped over from the states a while back, so something that
can use that would be cool as well.
