Hi Robert,

Anything above 800x600 is a no-no without a Prograde scan converter. Even
then you have to throw information away. A TV will just about display 600
lines.

A converter should allow the monitor to stay connected as the input would
be
normal SVGA.

Look at www.vinemicros.co.uk but be prepared to spend serious money for a
good one. It will still look inferior to a PC Graphics card with TVOut
because the graphics card will generate the picture for the TV rather than
having to convert a monitor signal. Can the RiscPC not run at lower res
modes line the early Archimedes could. they could be connected to a TV or a
15kHz monitor.

The rgbtosvideo unit is for the RGB output of a Digibox or DVD player which
is 50Hz/15.625kHz unlike SVGA which is >56Hz/>38kHz depending on
graphics
card but 56/38k minimum. A TV will not display that frequency.

Collected the next batch of PCB's for KAT5 today so its back in production
:-))

I'm getting a bit worried as well, we need to keep KAT5 secret.
Sorry Keith.

Are you going to be able to keep up with any extra demand?
I think I'll order from the next batch.

Also can anyone recommend a good and affordable convertor for moving from
RGB out of a computer (1024x768 / 1280x1024 / 800x600) to S-Video.
I know you can get PC Graphic cards with S-Video out, but I want to plug it
into my Acorn Risc PC, so am stuck with the on board video (uses a standard
PC type socket). The other end is distined for Kat5.

Also I want to be able to keep my monitor connected at the same time. I
saw
the link to www.rgbtosvideo.com but I'm not sure if thats just suitable for
low res RGB.
