What is entirely possible is that this was a premium rate number,
but the SMS messages were completely fictitious, instead, it was relying on
curiosity as people receiving the e-mail message phone the number t 
"check
it out".

When I spoke to Carphone Warehouse, their press people were suggesting that
this scam wasn't real at all, but may have been an example of what
"could"
be done used in a presentation.

I doubt if anyone would be offended by these messages being passe on, It's
just unfortunate that many of these social engineering e-mail virii are
becoming more and more plausible.
