Does anyone know how to increase the "timeout" period in Windoze
between it
trying to access the Internet across a LAN and it deciding that no
connection is present?
I have a [shhhh] ORiNOCO wireless LAN access point which is working
beautifully with that other unmentionable thing but it also has a built in
DHCP server *and* modem (with NAT and all that).
It is able to share the modem across both the wired and wireless legs of
the
LAN *HOWEVER* the time it takes for the modem to dial up and log on is just
a little too long for the timeout value on my PCs. The result of this is
the
first time you try to access the Internet (whether it's for email or web
browsing) then you get either a DNS error or a delivery error but it works
fine if you retry immediately afterwards.
Anyone got any ideas?
Phil
