Cheers ... When I work out what all that means I'll try it!

I was actually hoping to use the modem as a "run this up when I want
to
speed up downloads" item rather than a "dial whenever the
bandwidth is
required" setup.

Fancy passing on a 70 page phonebill with something like 3,000 hung up 1
second phone calls from BT Surftime on to your bit on the side at
Watchdog? *grin*
