Well - things have got more exciting.

I mentioned this over coffee this afternoon, and we've just realised that
i=
t would deal with a lot of our implementation issues at work if we could
ge=
t such a solution working.

We provide internet infrastructure to local retailers - at the moment,
they=
have to dial in speculatively every 15 minutes to see whether there are an=
y orders outstanding for them, which typically costs them =A340 / month -
i=
f this technology works, then all of a sudden we have a solution whereby
we=
can "ping" _them_ at no cost to us to tell them that there's an
order for =
them, and that they should dial in to pick up the details. (Of course, if
w=
e can compress the data size, we might be able to send them the whole
order=
in a couple of SMS blocks...)

We're now looking, not for one solution for me, but for a few for testing
n=
ow, and a few thousand in Q1.
