I cant remember the exact details but when I was installing my pabx there
was a couple of mentions about when using 2 wire (standard) phones with it
they had to have a certain type of hanging up method or else they couldn't
be used, the same sort of thing may apply for what your doing.

Not bad results for a box designed for the U.S.

Re. the DECT phones, I have recently added one to my Omnicom PBX and it
often doesn't ring. I suspect they're a bit funny about ring signals.
