I have had many problems with usb ports. Windows historicly doesn't
like serial on shared interupts, all usb serials share the same irq.
The mscomm32 activex component used in many programs to access the
serial port will crash with 2 serial usb's running. However try
installing modems on USB serial ports and I have never had any
problems. I guess TAPI is imune to the interupt problem. I run 5
serials on my machine normal on irq 2,3,5,7(printer disabled) and one
on usb and have not had any problems.
