Hi Mark,

Yeah .. the damping factor and the way it affected by resistence in speaker
cable can be an audible issue
with some amp / speaker combinations.
You are right tho ... £few/mtr. price is fine ..... more than that, the
punter's been had!

Regards

Brendan

Brendan,

I agree that some manufacturers massively over-hype their products.
However,
in their defence most of the reputable dealers will now let you have cables
on a 7 day "no questions asked refund" basis if you decide you
don't like
them, with some of them
offering up to 30 days trial (ie you pay, but they refund if you return...)

I can hear a massive difference with my speakers since I swapped the cheap
and nasty wire they came with for some "real" speaker cable. That
having
been said, my new speaker cable was £2/m not £200/m!!!

Hi Keith,

Haven't been to the Show but agree with your sentiments re use of
widescreen
and partic, re leads.
I simply can not understand how these manufacturers get away with the
pricing and the bull re leads.
Even more disgraceful are the so-called reviewers who describe cables in
the
same terms as they would an amp or a speaker ...... (equally bull++++
terms). I have enev seen people say that a phono lead 'sounded better when
the connections were reversed' ......................

Ah well ...

Brendan
