I
must
say i was swinging to the side of the coupe, more for the styling really
&
that i never feel comfortable enough sitting in an open topped car with the
roof
down basically saying 'hey, look at me!'.
After
this exam I shall go & test drive them both & see which I fancy but
the
coupe does seem a little more pricey for the same year, mileage
etc
I
do
love my Alfa GTV however she is getting a little tired now - but I
guess
67,000 miles & still going strong is pretty good.

The rear suspension for the Roadster is based
on
an extremely old 3 series, and isn't very good basically. It's also not a
very
rigid chassis. I agree with Tim that BMWs are good cars, but the Roadster
is
the car they should never have made (at least not the way they did). Nobody
I
know who knows cars likes the Roadster. The Coupe on the other hand seems
to
be better.

They're not my cup of tea (aesthetically), but to be
honest if they are anything like the 3 series they will be outstanding
to
drive. BMWs just seem to be class leaders, and they get better with
every
evolution (twice I've used that word in a day).
The M powerplants
really like to rev - the M3 engine redlines at 7,900 rpm so the power
just keeps on coming.

Tim,
have you any experience of the M
coupe or roadster?
Thinking of treating myself (to a 2yr old one) if
I pass an exam next week.
Have an Alfa GTV at the moment &
feel the urge for more power (&
less rattles)
Cheers

I can barely wait 2 weeks for something, let alone a YEAR.
Christ, that's ridiculous!!
Luckily for me then that I have
*zero*
interest in cars. Too slow, too big, too many wheels...
