RE: Door Bells anyone?

I was wondering when you would enter the fray :]
Perhaps there should be a new yahoo discussion group:
questions_for_mr_doxey_d :-)

Could work, though would involve cutting holes in plasterboard lining hall
wall unless it was housed in a waterproof box outside - neither really
appealing (have had so much building work over 12 month period that SWMBO
especially (and me to a degree) are adverse to any more
cutting/plastering/decorating etc for a while :)
Might look at big door bell housings as a short term solution & just
bung a
load of insulting tape around the guts of a key fob. Frond door (and hence
frame) may be replaced with double glazed jobbie in a few months, so may
give scope for a more wired solution - or that which you suggested.
Tnx all for the ideas.

I won't dare to ask what you do instead, but I'll bet it involves Cat-5
:-))
